Me + Dave LaChapelle = Bliss

 

 

Being a fan of Dave LaChapelle’s print editorials for the likes of Vogue as well as the in your face, over the top photo shoots of celebrities (Micheal Jackson standing on Satan anyone??) I was really upset when he announced his retirement from fashion photography in 2005. However, my friend told me about one of his exhibitions here in London and I jumped at the chance to go with her.

He’s back sans the celebrities making an illustrious transition from fashion photographer to fine artist with a collection paintings. His latest collection is called ‘Earth laughs at flowers’ and as the name suggests these are paintings of flowers. But that would be too straightforward for Mr LaChapelle so you’ll need to look very closely to notice that these just aren’t any flowers. I won’t give anything away though.
